Capacitive vs Conductive styli

After dipping my toe in the 'droid tablet world with a MID, I bit the bullet and am awaiting delivery of VZW Galaxy Tab.

Biding my time searching through all the spiffy accessories, I came across a Samsung branded stylus which is labeled as "conductive."
However, most every other table styli I've seen is identified as "capacitive."

Do I really need a $20 Samsung brand stylus?
(I haven't seen any other conductive styli.)

No.

Tried the Targus generic capacitive stylus - worked fine.

Ended up buying a Brookstone mini stylus, with the lanyard that pops in the audio jack.

Search continues for a capacitive version of the multi-function stylus pens that were common during the Palm Pilot/PDA era.
