Leadbolt Opt-out?

My tablet has recently started showing ads from leadbolt.com. I'm sure it's because of some app I downloaded, but I'd like to be rid of them. Leadbolt's site says I can opt out, but the only option they're showing for tablets is to download an app that will opt me out. This sounds fishy to me, like a possible trojan. (Also, I can't find the app in the play store.)

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge here? Do I try this app? Or do I need to look at it like removing spyware?
