Hello! I am going to Israel in the summer and wanted to give my friend who lives there a small tablet (7-8in). I was going to get the Kindle Fire but was told it was regionally locked so my friend would not be able to access the app store there. Are there any tablets I can buy here that would work there? TIA!

The Kindle would be a worse choice than some other tablets as there are things you can't do with it even in the US as Amazon has more control over it than most other Android tablets. I would suggest something like the 7" ASUS Memo tablet or a 7" Samsung Galaxy tab. Part of the usability in Israel would be the keyboard and there are some that have Hebrew layouts available. Stick with a major brand name.
