Why cant i download from the market?

my daughter got the android 2.2 and we cant download anything from the market? i have opened a google and hotmail account and still nothing. i have reset to default and retried a few times and still nothing
please help my daughter is getting cross with santa lol

Android 2.2, kernel version 2.6.32.9, model wondermedia - hope you can help i keep getting a notification saying 'google talk authentication failed' does this have anything to do with it??

Try downloading a app. from Amazon. After downloading their "app of the day" app it is super easy.
