Looks like Samsung will be pushing out the update to the Note 2 and GS3 sooner than expected, as early as the end of October. We can thank the Galaxy Gear for the accelerated release.
An interesting bit of info, turns out the Galaxy Gear works pretty well with my Note 2 running 4.1.2
Just got the Gear today and spent a little time finding a version of Gear Manager that runs on my phone (recent versions apparently will only run on 4.3) and I haven't tried many things yet but I snapped a picture with the Gear and it is pretty much instantly available on my phone. I'll try messaging and phone functions tomorrow but at least I can play with it now instead of waiting the two weeks or so until 4.3 is pushed to the Verizon Galaxy Note 2.
