8024 Firmware Available Fixes White Screen!!!

In another post user htcx posted he checked the Coby Site and a Firmware was posted for the
8024.

I have confirmed it and it works!.

I applied the firmware and it has fixed my broken 8024. I was stuck with white screen now I'm back to normal.

Now that its available its probably just a matter of time until someone can upgrade us to 2.3. Because the firmware is the original 2.2.

Instructions to apply the Firmware.

I am writing this so you don't have to go to thread listed under a different model to find out how.
This way you will realize that the models are not always cross compatible.


1. Get firmware from Coby's website.
- go to Coby's website.
- go to support and choose "Software Drivers and Documents"
- Select the 8024 in the drop downs.
- Choose "Firmware" and download the file.

2. Unzip the file to your computer and copy the files to a blank SD card. (2G or better should do).
- the zip file contains a folder.
It is the contents of that folder that needs to be
copied onto the sd card. Not the folder itself.

3. Place SD card into SD slot on the 8024. (make sure 8024 is powered off).

4. Hold volume + and Power Key.
- since I had a white screen I waited until the screen turned almost completely white.
- if you don't have white screen wait for Coby logo to appear.
- release the keys.

5. Wait for 5-10 minutes and 8024 will power off.
- just wait until it powers off regardless of how long. But not hours.

6. Turn 8024 back on.

7. Enjoy your tablet again!
