It looks like the newest Acer Iconia A200 Android tablet will likely go on sale on January 15th. Additionally, there are reports that the slate is scheduled to get Android 4.0/Ice Cream Sandwich in mid-February. The 8GB version will likely sell for $330 bucks, and the 16GB version will go for $20 bucks more. Just as a refresher, here are the specs on the tab:
  • microSD slot for expansion
  • NVIDIA's dual-core Tegra 2 SoC
  • 2MP front-facing camera
  • 10-inch 1280 x 800 display
  • eight hours runtime battery
  • Full-size USB 2.0 port
For all the features, this price seems to be a decent bang for the buck. What do you think?

I've seen two spec. sheets now which just say 3260 mAH battery. I hope that is two 3260mAH batteries (like the A500, from engadget "Acer A500A includes a pair of 3260mAh batteries under that shiny rear cover") or this A200 is going to be short on battery.

Not much different than A500 except losing the rear camera and the A500s sold for the same price (recently), so why did Acer bother with the A200?
