Hi Rick, congratulations on your new tablet and welcome to the forum. There are several free anti-malware apps available on the markets if you feel you need one. I'm using Lookout on mine with no apparent performance issues.

I used lookout a/v. It slows start up and browsing a little but I had no problems otherwisa.
