AT&T Jetstream Announced; HTC’s First Ever Honeycomb Tablet! by Rajesh Pandey

HTC and AT&T have finally announced there first ever Honeycomb based tablet, the AT&T Jetstream. The taiwanese company’s first ever Honeycomb tablet is different from the other run-of-the-mill Android Honeycomb tablets out there.

Unlike other Honeycomb tablets powered by a Tegra 2 SoC, a blazing fast 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm powers the Jetstream. The tablet sports a 10.1-inch screen with (1280×800) resolution. Also, unlike most other Honeycomb tablets out there, the Jetstream will feature HTC’s popular custom UI skin, Sense UI, which will be optimized for tablet. The Jetstream will also feature HTC’s useful Scribe feature, which first made its appearance on the Flyer.

The Jetstream packs the standard connectivity features for a tablet including Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS with A-GPS and support for AT&T’s HSPA+ network, and most importantly its upcoming 4G LTE network.
At the back of the tablet is an 8MP camera with dual LED flash, and a 1.3MP camera in the front for video calling. The device is also capable of recording and playing back full HD videos.
AT&T’s Jetstream will launch with Android 3.1 Honeycomb on-board, and will hit the retail stores on September 4. The disappointing part about the tablet is its price. The Jetstream will cost a wallet-busting $699.99 with a two-year contract. This probably makes the Jetstream the costliest Android tablet at the moment!
