Barcode Scanner Problem

Hi my name is Teri. I had my new tablet nearly a week now. There is a app on my tablet that I can't get it to work. It's Barcode Scanner. I was wondering if it had to do with my camera settings. I went in my camera settings I didn't see anything that I could fix it.
