Can't open files with file manager

Suddenly my tablet (asus transformer) stopped to open files with file manager.

In the past when i pressed on .avi file for example, i got a window where i could choose the app i would like to use (rock player, vplayer etc..).

Now when I'm pressing any file, the screen becomes darker, but nothing happens. It seems like the tablet lost all file associations.

How can i fix the problem?

Often times deleting the file mangement application and then reinstalling said application fixes the problem.

Had this on my Xoom. The xoomforums had the suggestion to rotate the screen when it is dimmed. That worked. Seems that the pop-up to select which app to open with got hosed. Rotating the screen makes it come to the foreground again. Might be a honeycomb bug if it's on other tablets too.

In my experience, just wait for a while (may be ten minutes after reboot), that will be ok.
