Can't Update

I just go t a new tablet yesterday, it's telling me there's an update, and I am stuck on the "system update - checking update information" screen. It's been saying that for 15 minutes now. Wifi is fine, other things have updated. Any other way to do an update?

Try rebooting. Maybe it just got hung up.

The same thing happened to me, but eventually it managed to download. However , it said it didn't install properly, so I tried again and it still failed. When Ichecked the system information it says it's running the new android version, but the update icon winis still in the system tray. I don't understand how to get rid of this now.
