can't view nook files on computer

I am unable to get win. xp to open my rooted nook 2.1 files..I plug it into the usb and windows sees it as new hardware and asks for the location of install files? I don't were to point windows to look.. thanks for any replies.

Best places to start- [SCRIPT] Nook Color USB Drivers and ADB Setup (WinXP&7) - xda-developers, NookColor USB ADB - nookDevs Only thing I can find right off, hope this helps.

edit: also try a different usb port after you install the drivers.
