Convert Movies to MP4?

I like to watch my movies on my Samsung Tablet. I movie collection has been ripped to my hard drive and I would like to know if it is a good idea to convert the movies to mp4 for viewing on my tablet.

Aloha to you as well Konablue. Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new Samsung Tablet. For the movies you've already ripped, if they play on your tablet in their current format I wouldn't go to all the trouble of converting them to MP4. As you rip additional movies you might try ripping them to other formats to see if there's another format that works better on your particular tablet.
