I don't see why not.. but it would come down to drivers. you would have to either write your own or use the drivers from the current rom.

you could try the linux installer .apk from the market..I thought about it, but I've been busy working on other things for the tablet..

It uses uboot so its very possible naively, but you only get one shot to get it right or you'll brick the boot loader.
