Haipad M701-R: Sound but no video...

So I have had a Haipad M701-R for a while now and it has never played video.

I get sound.

I get the video player doing its thing.

I have a black screen.

This includes all Youtube videos too. Most frustrating.

I've tried checking the video settings and every other setting I can think of. It's never been hooked up to an external monitor or anything, so I just don't get it.

Any advice?

I know you said you've checked the video settings, but can you confirm that the display output is on LCD and not HDMI? I had the same problem until reading your post and thought to switch it over after testing the HDMI output.
