My question is as follows how to play movie files such as h264 etc on tablet do you have to convert all movies to mp4 if so which is the best program to do so.
Also why can't I just install a codec pack or media player which converts all formats like vlc player.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated;)

You can get a movie player app which supports the format,
Most formats I have tried including mkv have worked fine,
For any movie or tv show I am only going to watch on the tablet I use handbrake to shrink it and fit it to the resolution of the tablet screen, this way it works with the default video player and the file size has been reduce by 35% which saves space...

You could also convert to avi. Qqplayer will play avi.

best conversion software to use, which convert from any format to any format, is SUPER by eRightSoft.

It's free and easy to use, you can choose a file format, a codec, change bitrate (the higher the better), sound codec, sound quality, screen size, ratio, etc...

It's actually pretty easy and extremely customizable...

You can download more codecs, which it suggests you. I didn't, though, so it's up to you :)
