How do you clear search and web history on the Nexus 7

I have been using Android devices for sometime. However, I have not been able to figure out how to delete my search and . browsing history on the Nexus 7. Can anyone help me with this?

it has irked me to no end that I could not clear the browsing data, but I finally found it.

go to the web browser
click the three bullets in the upper right hand corner
go to settings
under the Advanced subheading click Privacy
on the top of the screen it says Clear Browsing Data

s.o.b they had to make it a pain to do such a simple request.
