i am a new toshiba (android 3.2 system) thrive tablet user and would like to use the device in my car when i travel. can i purchase a 3g usb dongle and use a sim card to connect like i use a wi-fi connection? if so what and where do i purchase these things?
i have seen something called red pocket mobile....what is this?

thank you for your help in this matter

These seem to be only usable for windows systems and mac. Not available yet for android.

It seems like this would be possible on an Android device but I have yet to see a dialer available.

What I use on the go is a hotspot, I got the Verizon one . You buy this device, the size of a credit card and you have a 4 g connection wherever you go and right now you can buy the device for only one cent on Amazon with2 years contract. The name is Samsung SCH-LC11 4G Mobile hotspot. You can get 5 Gb for $ 50 a month. Verizon has another device but you cannot charge it in the car, this one you can. The only dongle I came across is from huawei search on Google, I lost the link but it works with a lot of tablets.

Samsung Galaxy Note
