I just picked up an Acer Iconia 7-B1-710 for my wife. She is hesitating to open it until Xmas. It can be returned within 30 days if unopened. Is it possible to install software on this tablet or is it totally WYSIWYG? I'm thinking about Android stuff that you see on the Internet free or hacked. How does installation differ from Windows? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Welcome to the forum

Android is not Windows for sure. If you want to see what is available for Android the Google Play Store would be the best place to look. You will not be able to install Windows software on it.

Thanks for the reply. I had a look at Google Play and was amazed at how much was there for free. Will it all work with this entry level tablet?

It may be entry level but it's mainstream. I don't think you should expect issues with getting most of those apps installed.

I have one that I got for my daughter. We haven't run into any apps that don't work on it yet.
