Is it true the Haipad M701 plays most video formats without encoding?

I read in another forum that the Haipad M701 will play any video file, with some minor exceptions, without the user having to do special encoding. I found an ebay seller who has the 2.3 edition for a good price and want a tablet that can play movies smoothly without lag.

What are your experiences? Also, will this work with Netflix?

Thanks.

My experience is that most stuff i could download played without problems.
What made problems where too high resolution (over 720p) and integrated subtitles.
1080p will play in mp4 files and some MKV encodes, also DTS sound is a deal breaker :p
It is a damn fine media player pad =)
but i did not try Netflix. sorry. (i think that is only available in the US?)

Most newer pads with Cortex A8 and better processors will do fine with video formats
but among the sub-A8 pads this one is the best with media formats i belive and even better then some A8 pads.

That sounds encouraging, Loonix. Thanks. I wanted something cheap that would hold me over until Asus releases their 10-hour Windows 7 pad for under $500. The Haipad looks like it'll do the trick.
