Market doesn't work said no phone associated with this account

Before I root my nook I thought I'd try to download an app when I sign in and In do have a Google account it said there is no phone associated with this account. I don't have an android phone.
So now I'm afraid to start a root my nook if I can't access the market.

You need Google Android Market installed on your Nook first. The only way to do that is to root.
