Need update and help with screen not responding!

I found my old Pandigial novel black and I cant find where to get an update to get it to act as an android as well as I need help with my screen as it is not responding to touch. any help would be great!

I'm not certain what could be wrong with the display. I would try a restart and maybe one more charge cycle but on the OS, this may help.
