New Clueless Android

Hi all please bear with me I've a K1001L1 and have a problem.Trying to get my K4201-2 Vodacom dongel to work the normal way (it works through the ethernet connection)When i go to mobile networks it says error connecting when i search for a network?Second question what does mobile standby mean and why does it use so much battery>If anyone can please help me with these I would be grateful.Thanx

Hi gurus
another Question from this novice is if i go into battery mobile standby is draining my battery.How can I fix this and If I put it in Aeroplane mode will my speedstick still work.Also my device still only picks up my dongel on ethernet.
