New Guy with a Sound Problem

New guy here. I just acquired a Viewsonic gtab. It is rooted a running a custom ROM (vegan-tab/gingerbread OS). The problem I’m having is that there is no volume when trying to watch a video online via the browser. I have been through all the settings and the volume control on youtube, but nothing has let me hear what is playing. The volume works great with the music that is on the tablet, I just can’t hear anything when using the browser to watch a video. Anybody have any thoughts?

Update: i downloaded and installed the dolphin browser. Now i have sound, but everything is the mobile format. I would rather the regular browser work.
