Anyone suggest a simple Notepad type application for writing text files?

Evernote seems to be a popular one (Editor's Choice). I use Google Keep which is really simple. But, there are hundreds to choose from.

I like inkpad for simple lists because it syncs to my PC.

"Cloud Print" has a good basic notebook built in. You can print your notes using the software through any internet connected printer.
