streaming videos with "ice stream" and vplayer

i'm trying to get "ice stream" to stream videos with vplayer with divx codec. downloading and using the gallery player takes quite a while as we all know. loading streaming videos with icestream is taking forever as well, even with the players optimized settings. the app has a decent amount of movies/tv and would be cool to be able to watch on demand. does anyone have any way to get this to work or a better suggestion for streaming movies. i dont have netflix or hulu and prefer this free app. if i could get it to stream it would perfect since i will be taking a long flight(9 hours) in the near future. if their is another free app with movies that would work that info would be appreciated as well.
