Tablet has ads?

Hello, my sister recently got a samsung galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition for her birthday and I was using it the other day and I noticed that every time I unlock it an ad pops up. They either pop up as notifications with a "go now" or "no thanks" option or just directly take me to the play store to download an app.

I'm wondering if this is normal (as I know the kindle tablet has ads) or is there a way to remove them? They are very annoying.

I personally have never had a tablet and she is as clueless as I am.

Welcome to the forum

Go to settings - accounts and tap on the Google account. There is a setting there to disable admob..
