TPC7901 Connection problem

Hello, my name is Jamie and I recently purchased the 7" android tablet TPC7901 and I cannot browse the web. I connect to my wifi, the icon appears and it says I am connected but when I tap the browser button all I get is web page not available. What am I doing wrong? I am starting to think I need to send it back. Thank you very much.

I have gone to Hastings where there is free wifi to see if I can get a connection and stay connected and I could not. I got a connection for approximately 10 minutes.
