wiping data

Hello, I am using CWR 3.0.1.0 and trying to wipe the data sector on my Nook color prior to doing an install of Phiremod. Each time I try doing this I get an error saying unable to wipe data. I have CWR on a 8gig SD card is this the problem? Or am I using an outdated CWR? If I am can someone provide a link to the newest version.

I was originally using CyanogenMod 7 but read some information about Phiremod. I will try installing CWM internally.
