can I update my onda v971t from a sd card?

so far I know I have to use the amlogic usb burning tool, but my I can supposedly update from sd card and cache...let me know please if there is a way for me to simple update my tablet from a sd card, let me know. appreciate any help.

There are many flashing tools at ondaforum.com but the one that does what you want to do is called "PhoenixCard". It will prepare a bootable SD card containing the desired ROM in the proper <file_name>.img format that may be flashed at boot. I have used it successfully many times with my v989. Follow the directions carefully and you will be OK.
