What are the "SNS pkg update" notifications?

What are the "SNS pkg update" notifications I keep getting? I tap on the notifaction,but it doesn't open up anything. It just disappears.

What ROM you are using?

I read one of user using same rom as mine got this notification too.
He reported this notification dissapear after he manually updated Google maps.

Although on my tablet I didn't get this notification and Google maps automatically updates.

Ah, and what is that "SNS pkg" ??
What does it do?

As I can remember this is a app that does not exist in the stock 2.2 "classic" S7 firmwares, only in the Slim, right?

My s7 slim is pure stock. Purchased about 2 months ago from best buy here in the states. I just get these notifications in my notification bar about once a week and we're wondering what they are, since when I click them they just disappear.

"SNS" seems to be something related to social networks... anyway I've removed the app, and everything still works ok.
(but I don't use any Social, of course!)
