Is there a way to edit an icon on the desktop in Honeycomb? ie I want to change the name of the Weather Channel icon to just "weather". Perhaps there is an app that can do that? A native way inside 3.2 to accomplish this?

Honeycomb 3.2 on a Lenovo Ideapad K1.

Natively in Honeycomb this is not possible to my knowledge.

There are quite a few ways to do this though.

I highly recommend using a new custom launcher called ADW Launcher EX. It has lots of customization, including up to 9 home screens, 10x10 icons per screen and a dock bar that hangs out at the bottom of the screen to hold commonly launched apps. It is also much quicker than the stock launcher. Drag and drop an app from the app drawer, then long press and on the menu select "Edit" and you can change the icon.

The app Desktop Visualizer you can use and add a 1x1 widget on the home screen, then configure it for a custom icon of your choosing and then custom app launcher.

Another is to use the app Folder Organizer and you can change the icon so long as you add the app to the home screen through the Folder Oragnizer widgets.
