I notice that the cable of my old phone corby pro b5310 the same cable that vizio tablet use ... and the charger got the same specific volt ... the cable worked with vtab ... but I cant try the charger ... I am afraid of doing a damage to vtab ... I think I will ask vizio about it and see a response ...

corby pro b5310 charger

input = 100 - 240 v ~ 50-60hz 0.15A

output 5.0V === 0.7A

===========
vtab1008 charger

input = 100-240V ~ 50 - 60hz 0.3A
output = +5V === 2A

I don't think your phone charger will supply enough amps: .7 vs. 2.0. If it doesn't overheat, it will take nearly three times longer to charge. :(

I don't think it will damage the VTAB or your charger but it certainly will take longer to charge. I doubt it uses the full 2 amps of the charger for the entire charge cycle so I don't know if if would be three times as long. I charge mine off of my laptop sometimes with no issue except longer charge time.

Obviously, the absolute safest way is to use the stock charger and cable as they were tested by the factory to work with the VTAB.

Walmart.com lists the Vizio wall charger and cable for $9.99. Free shipping if you use the ship to store option.

And don't forget that if your local Walmart has it in stock, they WILL match the online price. That is how I bought two of the Vizio folio covers for $19.99 when the store price was double that.
