CMP745e frozen at startup android splash screen

Hello I am a brand new Android user. My CMP745e tablet will not go past [FONT=inherit !important][FONT=inherit !important]the [/FONT][FONT=inherit !important]Android[/FONT][/FONT] splash screen. I leave it alone for a while, but still nothing happens. I connect it to my Windows XP desktop and I do get "[FONT=inherit !important][FONT=inherit !important]new [/FONT][FONT=inherit !important]device[/FONT][/FONT] found", but it fails to install the device.

Can anyone offer some help or suggestions?
