Hello!

My tablet: Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 with Android 4.0
My computer: MacBook Air (2012) with OSX 10.8

I want to transfer a bunch of images to my tablet.

Connecting my tablet with USB to the Mac, and using the "Android File Transfer" app, I can browse all the folders on the tablet.
I can download any file off my tablet.
HOWEVER, I cannot upload any files to my tablet!!!

Why?

Can I only transfer files to a specific folder on my tablet?

Is there an option in my tablet settings that I have to toggle, with regard to security, files, network usb or other settings?

During file downloads, or trying to upload, the tablet screen momentarily changes to a screen titled "MTP application" or something. Does that mean my connectivity is using "MTP" ? Is that good or bad?

FYI I ended up booting my Mac into Windows 7 and the tablet is instantly recognized and useable like a USB key.

I guess bottomline the Android folks need to address their Mac software for file transfers.

Apple corporate mentality attempts to design so that no other manufacturer's product will function well with theirs unless that company has paid them a huge licensing fee. I'm sure if you took this question to Apple support the only answer would be to buy an iPad.
