galaxy tab screen playing up

hi guys got a strange one all of a sudden the screen wont click on any links in the browser so for instance if i click on my facebook notifications on the page in the browser it wont do anything it also wil not click on submit when im trying to send pm's on varius sites ive done a factory resett and its still exactly the same im quite close to hitting it with a hammer
im on stock firmware its uuntouched from factory can anyone shed any light on it please

Have you tried cleaning the screen? Sometimes when touchscreens get very dirty they become unresponsive.
