I just rooted my tablet. At no point in the process was I asked to set the root user password. Is it now blank? If so, do I have to leave it that way after I've installed what I want (Google play) ?? I'm worried about malicious apps hijacking my tablet for some nefarious ends. If the superuser password is blank it would be pretty easy to wreak havok on my brand new used tablet.

paranoid much? you can use an app called superuser to allow you to choose which apps, get root permission, also you can simply rename the su binary to sudo, or bob if you like, then only you would know which binary was root. the su binary doesn't have a password.

A little paranoia goes a long way.I don't think I'll be doing any online banking from my coby. Thanks for telling me about superuser.apk. I see it was installed with traveller1701's rooting bundle.
