Need Tablet to Work Without Internet

Having problems with this tablet working for awhile then it will not work at all and shuts down apps and I figure it is having no internet connection. This tablet is my grandsons and they have no internet access at home. I will connect it and it will work for a few weeks and then won't work and everything shuts down. After the apps are installed they should not require internet unless they are updating. I have turned all the automatic update options off, but it still does this. Can anybody offer suggestions?

It sounds like you used the Amazon appstore to download your apps. All Amazon apps "phone home" to Amazon every so often to ensure they are connected to an Amazon account. If the apps cannot "phone home", they shut down.

Apps from Google Play and Fdroid.org don't have this restriction.

I don't know for certain about GetJar but I believe Amazon is the only appstore that requires apps to phone home.
