Nexus 7 colour vibrancy/washed out

I've just got my Nexus 7 & am immensely impressed overall.
However I did notice immediately the colours were not as vibrant as those on my Xperia Pro, the blacks don't seem as black & things just generally seem a little washed out to me, it's especially noticeable on my live wallpaper (same on both devices) and games such as Fruit Ninja.
I'll hopefully be rooting soon, is there anything software wise that can be done to improve things..?

I believe some Nexus 7s have screen issues. You may want to try lowering the brightness but if it is still washed out an exchange may be in order. See this thread http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...hout-ghosting-potential-widespread-issue.html.

Thanks for the help, lowering the brightness has helped a little but the colours are in my opinion are much less vibrant than my other devices.. I don't experience the level of washout as displayed in the other thread but don't know if there is an actual issue or I'm just being too fussy.
