could be a hardware issue, the firmware is unable to load, either the tablet is physically damaged or the hardware is too different for firmware to load. Also the firmware could have been dumped using the incorrect process, run the permission.zip it will rewrite permissions on the system if this is the case.

There is no zip for fixing touchscreen as it's very complex and time consuming, you can Google how to fix touch screen and get the jest of what you have to do.

I flashed what I believe is the dump for ft5x_ts (the boot.img md5 is 1f7195a361341af391ab3ab2fc9327e6) followed by CM9 (http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/coby-generation-3-development/46413-cm9-coby-7042-a.html). I have been able to boot into android however I still don't have touchscreen functionality. If I remember correctly there was some cwm zip for fixing touchscreen. I cant seem to find the zip though. Any further suggestions or know where this zip might be?

One possibility, your touchscreen is goodix.
