About to get a Linsay quad core 7' tablet

LINSAY 7" NEW QUAD-CORE CPU 1024x600 1GB 8GB DUAL CAMERA Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Tablet from sears to be exact.

I was wondering if this is a good buy? It seems like it has decent specs, but I heard it is not supported at all by google, and Ill be stuck at 4.2 and will not be able to update. Is this true, or will I be able to update it?

Yes. Unfortunately, unless you by a Google Nexus or one of the other high end brand name devices, you won't receive an upgrade through your OEM. I purchased my Acer tablet over a year ago with Jelly Bean 4.1.2 and, unless I decide to root it, I'll be stuck with the same OS forever.
