Acer Iconia A500 - blank screen repair suggestions?

I have an Acer Iconia A500 -- no damage, never dropped it. All of a sudden the screen is blank and it does not come on unless I squeeze it in a particular area of the screen. Any idea on how to fix this? Is this possible internal damage?

Try booting the tablet with the HDMI output port connected to a TV and monitor to see what happens. This could help differentiate between a dead screen or driver and more serious problems with the hardware. There is a small possibility that problems with the firmware and boot software is causing the tablet to hang up. If you have a microSD card installed, remove it an d try rebooting.

Which OS are you running ? Did this problem happen as the result of an update ? I bought an A500 a few months ago that had HC 3.0 installed. Over the first three days the tablet updated to 3.1, 3.2 than 3.2.1 without problems. About a month ago the tablet updated to 4.0.3 without problems.

Also is the tablet still under the mfg. warranty ?
