As for Applanet....it is legit. BUT...as with any market, Android is open source, and any app can be "dangerous". Malware has been found in apps from "real" market, so just beware...

Applanet is a warez site, it distributes pirated software, so "legit" is not a word I would use to describe it, and as such if you are going to use it you should definately be more cautious than when you are using legal sites like Amazon, the Google Market, Getjar etc.
