Archos 97 titanium

Hi all, i'm a newbie on here looking for help/advice. I have an Archos 97 Titanium and have forgotten the password for the screen lock. I have contacted customer support and they suggested trying holding the volume - button and the power button together to put unit in reset mode. This didnt work, nothing happened. The other option was volume + and power, using this combination the unit does power up but just a normal start up. I relayed thsi information back to Archos who said they would contact france for further advice, but im still waiting for a reply. Just wondered if anyone on here could offer advice/ assistance.

hold down volume - button and press power on
android logo appear with yellow triangle
then leave all the buttons . now press power and hold power button and press volume + button for once .
you will see recovery mode.
good to go .
