Asus MeMO Pad 7 - Update OS to a Later Version

My Asus MeMO Pad 7 is running slowly.

This tablet hasn't been used much since I bought it. My daughter wants to use it to run Kindle.

Is there any way of updating the OS to a later version?

Tablet manufacturers typically only support two major versions of Android after the original the tablet was released with, at best. If your tablet didn't see an update then it doesn't have one. As a result the latest Kindle app will not work.
