cannot install apk files

hello, can somebody help me with this problem

ive bought a new a500. but i cant seem to transfer 3rd party programs (apk files) from laptop to tablet. ive already checked to allow 3rd party programs

i can open the tablet as an external device. where should i place the apk files to run them? i cant seem to find a file manager in my unit.

You should be able to find a File Manager app in the standard market. once you have done that, it doesn't really matter where you copy the APK file to. Just copy it, select it in the File Manager app and it will install correctly. Personally, I keep a folder on my SD card called APKs, and I put copies of all of the various APK files I like to be able to have handy.

It does come in very handy having a folder on the device to store applications in. The external card is an excellent place for those little things to live in.
