From MyDigit.cn (forwarded post from another place)

Just translating here:

RK2808
Supported Android OS: 1.5
ARM926E 600MHz,Linpack 2-2.5MFlops(on Android 1.5)
RAM: 128MB SDRAM,32bit (up to 512MB support)

Video decoder:Ceva MM2000,based on 550MHz DSP
multiformat,RV,H.264,VC-1,H.263,MPEG4 up to 720p

H.264 supports only up to 2Mbps. VC-1 only up to 480p. Lacks GPU acceleration.

RK2818
Supported Android OS: 2.1
ARM926E 660MHz,Linpack 3MFlops+(on Android 2.1 w/o JIT)
RAM: 256MB DDR2,32bit (up to 512MB support)

Video decoder:Ceva MM2000,based on 600MHz DSP
multiformat,RV,H.264,VC-1,H.263,MPEG4 up to 720p

GPU: ARM Mali-55
Features:OPENGL ES1.1,OPENVG
Triangles per second:1M
Pixel fill rate:100M

Slightly increased clocks compared to RK2808, but still suffers from video decoding issues at higher bitrates. GPU acceleration is so entry-level that it is useless for most 3D games. Targets low-end Android market to undercut TCC8902.

I'd be very surprised if this gets any future Android updates at all.

Can someone confirm some of the things in that article?

620MHz ARM9
Not sure about the GPU yet
Free RAM at 200MB, so there is some sort of GPU/HDMI buffer? RK2808 showed full 128MB available

In hardware level I am afraid the difference is only in RAM, RK2818 use DDR2, RK2808 only support SDRAM, RK2918 is under testing, Will support froyo and then gingerbread.

Does this means that it's not possible in any way to get 2.1 on 2808, or atleast 1.6?

My device does have 2808A+, whats the difference from 2808A?
