I am trying to connect my FT2.1 via my local WIFI Linksys AP (WPA2-Pers Security setup) which is networked to my Dell Windows XPSP3 PC. The FT2.1 searches for the network (Obtaining address...), but then indicates "Remembered, secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK". Signal strength is shown as "Excelent".

Then the search starts over, and over and over and finally quits to connect back to my internet WIFI network signal.

With ethernet connected and using "ES File Explorer 1.4.8.9" and selection of LAN or Server does not connect either. LAN selection just continues "scanning..."

Any thoughts on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

PS - My Fly2.1 is rooted with Firmware Update 3245 (very happy with this version, thanks again to rgocal).

I had similar problems with mine, with 1170, 1623, and even 3245. Mine said "Obtaining an IP address", then it failed. I was able to (with WiFi buddy) use a fixed IP address, and connect either way. My problem was, 169.254.115.nnn is a "forbidden" range (Android won't accept this range apparently), which my network was manually configred for, and so I had to reconfigure several devices to use a different range. Then it connects rock-solid every time.

From the way you are describing your setup, it sounds like your computer has the direct internet connection, and it shares out the connection to the AP. If you can configure the computer to share out a different range, then you'd be golden with your equipment. This might involve establishing a new network, and "bridging".

But it might just be easier to get a wireless router (with wired ports too), have it clone the "MAC address" of your PC (your ISP may have conniptions if you start changing equipment), and then let it serve the usual 192.168.0.nnn or 192.168.1.nnn which your tablet will have no issues using.

I am currently at an RV Resort that is broadcasting Internet WIFI using 10.10.50.0/255.255.255.0 IP range. My FT2.1 and Dell PC are having no problem accessing the WIFI internet.

My local AP WIFI network is using static 192.168.16.0/255.255.255.0 IP range. The local AP address is static IP: 192.168.16.3, subnet mask: 255.255.255.0, Gateway: None, and DNS: None.

My FT2.1 is set to static IP: 192.168.16.55, subnet mask: 255.255.255.0, Gateway IP: 192.168.16.1 and DNS: None.

The only thing I think may be out of line here is that FT2.1 seems to require entry of the Gateway address.

That shot my wad, sorry. Yes the FT2.1 should have loaded the gateway address automatically. You may additionally want to set the DNS as follows: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

Beyond this I have walked into being entirely useless. Is there a Starbucks or library nearby that provides WiFi, to see if it will connect anywhere?
