Adding to its expansive suite of applications covering various categories, Google has now introduced a new offering in the form of the Google Catalogs app for the iPad and Android tablets This application has joined the ranks of other Google shopping related tools like Google Wallet, Shopper, Offers and Shopper Pro, among many others.
As the name suggests, this app provides tablet users with numerous catalogs of popular brands with just a tap of the finger. Easing the online shopping experience, it promises to bring catalogs of more than 125 brands to the user’s fingertips on their tablet. Catalogs of labels such as Nordstrom, Williams-Sonoma, Nike, Macy’s, Urban Outfitters, Neiman Marcus, Williams Sonoma, Sephora and many more can be read by shoppers through this app.

The official Google mobile blog states that avid shoppers mostly have a problem of maintaining numerous catalogs of different shops and brands. This creates the problem of waste paper piles and lots of confusion, hassles and cluttering. The Catalogs app eliminates the need of wasting paper and hence, storing them neatly as the catalogs are offered online, in a manageable manner.
Possessing a size of 7.6MB, this application needs an iOS 4.2 or higher to operate on the iPad and between 3.1 and 4.0 to run onAndroid tablets. Currently, the newly released software consists of over 400 digital catalog issues spanning across categories like jewelry, gifts, gourmet, toys, kids, mens and women’s apparel, sports and athletics, outdoor adventure and gadgets.
The Google Catalogs app for iPad and Android tablets can now be downloaded for free from the App Store and the Android Market.
